Make Sure Your Driver Training School is Ministry of Transportation Approved

Many new drivers, hunting for the best price, have been lured by lower prices at non MTO approved driving schools.

These drivers end up losing in more ways than one:

  • They may not get the quality of instruction that they need
  • Theymayl not get any discount on their car insurance

Both of these are very important considerations. If a driving instructor is not approved, you have absolutely no way of knowing whether what they are telling you is correct. That could mean repeated tries at passing your G1 or G2 exit tests. This takes up time, but it may also cost you more money than you saved in the first place.

Taking a course from a fully qualified school may result in a substantial reduction in your driving insurance rates at most insurance companies. In fact, for most students, the insurance savings may be more than what you pay for the entire cost of the qualified driver training school.

You do not have to take the school’s word as to whether they are MTO approved. Just click on this link to find a list of all the MTO approved driving schools in Ontario.
